Tomorrow I'm shooting a feature on INKAS armored cars. I'm also actually shooting at their products with guns. Yes, my job is neato.
I'll have time tomorrow with their head honcho. Anything you guys want want me to ask them about what it takes to build an armored car?

How does he consolidate all that extra weight with the powertrain? How does he upgrade the engine and transmission??

What will you be shooting with? Like 9 mil or more like 50 bmg?

If we just banned guns, we wouldn't need armored cars #everytown

I'll ask him

Not a gun guy but I think we'll be using a rifle of some sort and a big automatic military looking one on a tripod-like stand. Please don't mock me, telling you all I know haha

Last week they sent me to a track to have Sebastian Vettel drive me around.

How do they compensate in terms of the new balance of the vehicle? Meaning, if you had a thousand pounds or more of glass, metal, or other materials, what do they do about the suspension? In turn, I suspect that affects the trans, driveshaft, axles, and tire choices in the vehicles. If he has any comments on that I'd love to know.

I know that they fortify the suspension components and add rubber cored tires but I'll ask about specifics for you.

How do they reconcile the rigid nature of anti-ballistic with the cushioned, deformable forgiving need of anti-explosive?

More than anything, I'm interested in how they develop it. Is it something where they move up to truck components, or do they develop stuff in house?

Now there's a good question! I believe they utilize separate layers of steel for each purpose but again, I'll ask them tomorrow

Ask him if you can shoot it AND blow it up.

I'll ask but I believe it's in house. They armor everything from Camrys to Escalades so I'd imagine that they frequently have to make their own components

What about the wheels? Does he do anything to "bulletproof" the wheels/tires? That's a vulnerable spot...

Holy farts that's cool.

I came here to make a "better call it *photograph* when you get there, or they'll get the wrong idea" joke, but you're actually doing that.
Have fun.

Wheels are standard oem but the tires are solid rubber
